The Eskimos’ depth chart for tomorrow night’s game against the Calgary Stampeders is available and there’s only one substantial move on the roster.
Marcus Howard’s broken thumb has predictably landed the defensive end on the six-game injured list. He’ll be replaced by backup Willie Jefferson, who will make his first-ever CFL start on Thursday night against Calgary. Another CFL rookie, in DE Cam Sheffield is in as Jefferson’s backup, coming off of the team’s practice roster.
J.C. Sherritt is listed as the team’s starting will linebacker, but hasn’t practised in weeks. Like last week, you can assume Sherritt will be one of the two game-time scratches. Dexter McCoil should get the start there, as he continues to piece together a fine rookie season.
The big news out of Calgary is that Jon Cornish is on the six-game injured list. Matt Walter and Jock Sanders will fill in at running back. You can check out the Stamps’ depth chart here.
I’ll be back later this morning with info from the Esks’ walkthrough…part of which is taking place on the terrace outside of their meeting rooms right now at Commonwealth Stadium
