The Eskimos’ depth chart is up (click here to download) and there are a few notable absences from the team’s final preseason game tomorrow night against the Riders.
Slotback Fred Stamps, receiver Shamawd Chambers, linebacker J.C. Sherritt and defensive tackle Almondo Sewell are all missing from the chart, as is offensive lineman Justin Sorensen, who hasn’t seen the field since he went down with a knee injury on June 7.
Brandon McRae will get the start in Stamps’ place, while Akeem Foster has the starting wide receiver spot in place of Chambers. Another interesting starter is rookie A.J. Guyton, who is in at Marcus Henry’s old slotback spot. Dexter McCoil will get the start in place of Sherritt and Eddie Steele will go in for Sewell.
Foster makes his Eskimos debut tomorrow night, after an ankle injury had him sidelined through last week. John White is listed as the team’s third-string running back but will get his first taste of preseason action against the Riders, having missed much of training camp with an injury.
Mike Reilly is scheduled to get the start at quarterback with Matt Nichols as backup and Jonathan Crompton as the third string. Pat White is listed as the fourth-stringer.
Rookie kicker/punter Zack Medeiros is slated as the starter, with Grant Shaw and Hugh O’Neill behind him.
Cornerback Robert Sands gets the start at boundary for Friday, with supplemental draft pick Mike Dubuisson behind him. Aaron Grymes and Joe Burnett are at one halfback, with Pat Watkins and Myron Lewis occupying the other. Marcell Young will start at the field side corner, with Raye Hartmann behind him.
